I found this poem that I wrote back in 2003. I remember it started to come out of nowhere and began composing itself in my head whilst I was walking around my favourite park with the tree spirits in. It was the first true poem I composed and brought on a rush of many more. I thought I would share it with you all!
The Great Dance of Life
Where to begin a song that has No beginning or ending? For all things turn in cycles Infinite, unending, in life or death, Birth and rebirth, Days, months, hours, seasons, And everlasting millennia
There are many grains of sand In the crevices of earth And yet more stars than all of those In the universe, uncountable, incomprehensible To our minds Though if we let it be, and strain not on thinking, We see it simply for the beauty And the mystery The wonder of it all
If it were only so simple That we could think that way of all things So life would go on turning Without question, or criticism, or fear In ourselves we would be peaceful And perhaps then Our world would be peaceful too.
Think not on life as a struggle, for all it requires Is an outlook of joy and optimism A train of thought An affirmation That all will be okay No matter how tough living can be There are always choices And saviours And heroes In ourselves
There may be many dark days But our hearts can make them shine For what is light without the darkness And stars without the night? It is in those darkest days when the glimmers of stars are visible That we can see our way For when our souls are at rock bottom Where else is there But up?
Like ascending angels We will rise and be reborn Like the phoenix from the ashes And we will be wiser for it And happier And more complete For we know And we are And we can be In this great universe of mystery And wonder
Do not grieve for those you have lost Mourn their passing Move on And honour them Feel joy for them For they are free I used to think that we were pawns of Fate That when it’s time, we go And all we choose is our path home But now I wonder if perhaps there are interventions In our human, mortal ways
But there are always reasons And experiences And things to be learned from all in life Be thankful for that small mercy And do no grow embittered For they are always with you By your side In your heart Guiding your way
Think not that you have lost them For they have not gone away They are with you always now Their attention and guidance and affection Is not limited to times when they can fit you in their schedule But is constant now, and everlasting Their love unconditional If it was not already So talk to them awhile And don’t forget them It is easier that way
Think now of those who wronged you No matter how big or small their sin And think of what created them Shaped them Made them Into what they are, and were, and will be Let them go Forgive them, or at least, Be willing to forgive And see them for what they could have been If not for prejudice, misguidance, neglect, other things That twist us in such ways
Let go of anger, resentment, hate, The festering only destroys ourselves Not others, for even revenge Is a weapon against the self Stripping little bits away ‘Til we are bare, and vulnerable, and left to the throes Of that other tool of self-destruction Guilt Take away lies Jealousy Envy Regret And all the limiting restraints We put on ourselves To stop our dreams And delay our destiny
Let go
Drift out into the stars Or the ocean Or the fields And be free Love yourself And all others No matter who they are For they were once like you It’s just their path Took a wrong turn And they could not find their way home
If your heart is full of things you cannot seem to be rid of Go back to the beginning Release everything that’s old That was not released before And love yourself for it Because it does not matter What you say or do Or how you look Or how you dress Or what shape or colour or faith you are
I know that I have faults But I do not berate myself for them I embrace them Work on them Release them Set them free And all the time I remind myself That I am a slice of the one whole circle Of divinity, of creation, and at the same time I am an individual, I am what I make me I am me
Money is something I strive for But it is not what drives me Material gains are for my taking As and when I need them But they are not what comfort me Remember that the most simple things Can bring joy no object can achieve Like the embrace of a lover The song of another The stars or the sun or the moon in the water Baby’s first steps or the birth of your daughter Or son, or the love of your parents and siblings Or the being in nature or stillness in silence Or the breath of sea air or the flash of fork lightning
I know there is more happiness in simplicity than complexity Like the dragonfly in the garden Or the bird that **** his head at me While I talk nonsensical And he sings to me To silence my chatter I walk in the woods And I feel spirit around me And there is more of God there And in hills And mountains And oceans And gardens Than I will ever find in tall buildings Or at altars Of hypocritical preachers
When I sit, and I think, of what mankind could do Instead of what he has done I think that there is always hope If I could just reach out And touch every one of you With the realisation of all that is sacred Around you, above you, within you, without you, You might change And change others
It matters not how big or small You make your contribution But perhaps you think That you would not make a difference Or that people would not listen Or maybe you don’t even care But we can all make a ripple In the largest of ponds For can a butterfly’s wings Not cause an earthquake in China?
In large oceans dwell small fishes And each has their place, and is beautiful With an equal chance against the current And an equal importance to the way of things Down there In an unexplored kingdom Of infinite possibilities Just like the universe With the stars That are more plentiful than the sand That our minds cannot comprehend
And so it goes And so it grows This great river of life It ebbs and it flows In large oceans and small streams It is ever changing Yet ever constant In a circle of rebirth Like the rain and the tide The turning of our earth And the seasons and their cycle Of birth and rebirth, no beginnings, no end
Look within yourself for the answers For only you can unlock the truth And the truth is we all hold the key To our lives, our essence, our body and soul We can eliminate disease Poverty of the soul Destruction of the self And we can manifest our changes for the better If only we let go And took hold of something new And better And let ourselves flow
So dance with life In your utmost innocence For you will be rewarded With the greatest of gifts
HRRIF UK - STROGLY CONDEMNS THE MURDER OF A 40 YEARS OLD AHMADI MUSLIM HEART SPECIALIST DR ABDUL MANNAN SIDDIQUI AT FAZLE UMAR HOSPITAL MIRPUR KHAS SINDH THE HOME OF NEW PRESIDENT OF PAKISTAN AND MQM LEADER ALTAF HUSSAIN
The Human Rights Restoration International Forum - HRRIF UK strongly condemns the heinous crime of the murder of a 40 years old heart specialist Dr Abdul Mannan Siddiqui on duty at Fazle Umar Hospital Mirpur Khas Sindh, the home of the new president of Pakistan Mr Asif Zardari and the MQM leader Altaf Hussain, today at 13:30 Pakistan time. Dr Siddiqui was also District President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community for Mirpur Khas. This is one of the series of cases of killings, inhuman ill treatment and torture of Ahmadi Muslims in the name of their religious beliefs by opponents who are the Mullahs of the Khatme Nabuwwat [KN] and their associates incited by anti-Ahmadi legislation and blasphemy laws of Pakistan. The HRRIF UK demands from Mr Zardari, the Prime Minister, the Governor of Sindh and the leader of the MQM to openly condemn this heinous crime and order for urgent investigations and redress against the perpetrators of the crimes against the humanity. HRRIF further demands repeal of such discriminatory laws inciting intolerance and violence against Ahmadi Muslims to avoid further loss of precious lives and professionals.
Sorry it's been a few days, but there really hasn't been much to report. Yesterday we were watching Unforgiven in her room, doctors were hoping familiar sounds would wake her up, but she didn't. Though she did start to show signs of life when she started moving her fingers and hands when we were asking her questions, like:"do you know who's here?" and "HBKs on right now, ya gotta see this match!" It's going to be a slow process, but at least things are starting to look up for her and our family,
I'd also like to 'thank' (yes, I'm being sarcastic) to those people who felt the need to send me messages saying to stop being an 'attention seeker' and calling me a 'liar' and telling me I needed to stop posting update messages because noone cares. I'm posting updates on ALL of my sisters blog accounts for those who DO actually care about her. If that many people here don't care, fine, just one less blog entry I have to write, but she was always on here so I assumed the people she talked to would want to know.
Hopefully be back soon with some more news, -Taylor
hi i'm new at this so bare with me, i would like to learn as much as i can to make a living on my own, so if you can give me a little of your time, i would like to hear from you, thanks. Elaine
Ouch... I didn't expect the Bengals to go 16-0 so a loss in its self isnt the end of the world. But DAMN!! Not sure I've ever seen the Bengals so lost and incompitent (thats a strong statement). Obviously Mikey is the owner/general manager so it all goes back to him...how do you blame yesterday on the owner/gm tho?? Just like its not Marvins call to hire/fire personel its not Mikey's job to coach and prepare the team. They did have a copy of the schedule right? They knew they were playing the Ravens and that they were supposed to prepare for that dfense and a bunch of rookies on offense right? I've always stood up for Marvin but after yesterday....nope. I put 100% of the blame on him and the rest of his seemingly incompitent coaches. When Carson Palmer even looks like a lost fool on the field (how many delay of game penalties did he have?) you know they werent ready for the game. Screaming about the dfense seems dumb, I didnt expect them to be any better than mediocre did you?? The offense didnt do a damn thing to help them out all day. I dont think there is an argument whether or not this offense has the tools to be top 10...they've been better than that in the past. So it must come back to coaching. I think everyone is missing the obvious choice for headcoach next year. You all know him. He's been under Mikeys grooming wing for years and has always been 100% untouchable. Who could it be besides Bratkowski?? Is there really any other choice you could see Mikey making!? I've been doing some investigating and I'm pretty sure he's married to Brown's adopted daughter (could there be any other explanation) so this move would complete Mikey's heirarchy of incompitence at PDS. Thats right the whole worthless family will finally be in place. While I'm absolutly disgusted by yesterdays performance I'm not ready to give up on the season yet...I dont think any real fan is, just the losers who are biching even when things are going ok (not meant as a personal attack just dont understand why you bother following a team you cant say anything halfway positive about even before the season starts). Tho If they play the same way next week I may have to revisit that stance. All of you people who are screaming that anyone who buys tickets to next weeks game is stupid..well being that the entire season is already sold out ...seems like we arent exactly the stupid ones in this conversation...try to keep up with the subject you are talking about!! Finally while I despise the way Mikey runs this team, you dont REALLY want the NFL to step in and force him to run this team a certain way do you?!?!?!?!!??? Last time I checked this is America and not China. Mikey may be running a shty business but it is his business and he has the right to run it however he sees fit. Thats one of the great things about capitalism and the U.S. last time I checked. We dont have a commie govt telling us how to run our businesses or how to live our lives. At the end of the day business is driven by customers and revanue...when they stop coming in he wont have a choice but to either change his ways or sell. Sorry for the economics recap but there seem to be a lot of ignorant...sorry misinformed (I'm trying to work on being more P.C. since many of you seem to be so damn sensative ha) people. Now if you think the NFL should set certain guidlines for ALL of it's owners to follow then we could have a very productive conversation....
Congrats to Matt Hardy who became the New ECW Champion. I just hope that he can be the champ for a long time to come and have an succesfull reign. I also hope that he doesnt put the title on the line Tuesday night against Mark Henry for a title rematch who quite frankly didnt deserve the title any ways. I would love to see fueds with Matt vs John Morrison that would be awesome. Id much rather see thoughs type of matches then Mark Henry who cant even wrestle.
Check out Kanye's performance of his new song "Love Lockdown" to close the MTV VMA's. Kanye actually sang better than half of the people who performed this year which is kinda sad. "Love Lockdown" isn't really a rap song but I guess Kanye is just going for a broader audience. It was different but I thought it was genius.
The performance was great and it put to shame all the other performances of the night. It's Kanye's world, everyone else just lives in it.
With some trepidation, I must organise another party. This time there will be no magicians and, I imagine, no unseemly declarations of love from Gerald. He has yet to send another post card.
No, it will be a simple, dignified affair, to mark both my 54th birthday and Sophie's impending departure to Bristol University. I hope to instil a little enthusiasm in her. Yesterday I found her student's welcome pack lining the bottom of Darcy's cage. Perhaps she is daunted by the academic challenges ahead.
Shariah is in such good health that she has apparently already outgrown the woollen bonnet I knitted for her.
When will Cameron learn that you will never meet ordinary people travelling on a First Class carriage. Instead he should take a leaf out of the governments book:
"By remarkable coincidence, the cabinet and the prime minister are making the same journey. One cabinet minister brushed past Mr Cameron and myself on his way through first class to make the point perhaps that in these straightened times, he and other members of Gordon Brown's top team would be travelling standard class"
Whilst families are feeling the blip of a worldwide downturn, Cameron sets a terrible example yet again by swanning about in First Class, I suppose standard wasn't good enough lol, despite the fact he is a very standard politican lollol!!

And they really could do with some lessons in wisdom and basic etiquette. Dear oh Dear, do you deserve a title of 'Executive Recruiter' when all you are is a spam machine working for an offshore staffing unit?
It's part of life that people don't always reply to your emails. So when I saw CISCO advertising on Linkedin for a couple of roles in China that we could help them out with, I dropped them a short, sweet, polite email indicating that we had filled roles for tier-one technology firms along the lines that they were advertising. (They are currently looking to hire an Executive Recruiter in China to Manage their Talent Vendors and do high level search, for now the advert is here.
Anyway - rather than do the right thing, the polite thing, and at least reply to my email with a 'thanks but no thanks' - this guy from CISCO India tries to poach one of my staff members! The email he sent made it quite clear of his intentions.
Suffice to say, she politely declined! Working in house suits some people, but it can lack the excitement, variety and independence of working 'supplier side' in a search firm or agency. And what CISCO were thinking trying to use a guy in India to find their top people in China? To me it makes more sense to source local talent in China through people based in China.
What's worse is the email itself was terrible. Shaky grammar, poor spelling, mixed up fonts, and poor spacing. It really did look just like SPAM.
So if anyone at CISCO is reading this, you might want to rethink your strategy by appointing someone to do your direct hiring who actually knows the China market a little, maybe speaks the language, and... maybe they could even be here in China ! Also, trying to solicit staff by a messy email is a pretty lame way of 'Headhunting' IMHO. Phone first. Then email. Don't CISCO care about discretion?
I'd be interested to know which other members of the Glass Dragon CISCO had tried to convince it was great working there with a lousy email?

I got a call Wednesday afternoon saying you are the grand prize winner of a trip to see Jessica Simpson's country debut at the Grand Ole Opry. I was overnighted 2 airline tickets to Nashville and when I checked into the Gaylord Palm's Opryland Hotel I was amazed I could have spent the whole weekend in this beautiful hotel and had so much fun without leaving but I also received two tickets to the Ryman Auditorium, the General Jackson Showboat with a NashVegas performance and tickets to the Grand Ole Opry.
What an awesome prize. I called Mike and asked if he would go see Jessica with me even if we had to travel he said yes it would be worth seeing her she would probably do or say something stupid to make it worth while. But when he found out it was in Nashville he turned the chance down to work, which can't complain times are tough so my honey worked while I went off to play for the weekend. My mom just recently moved away so I invited her knowing I won't be seeing much of her anytime soon.
We started friday morning with a trip to the big mall and had lunch and just goofed around until it was time to catch the show on the General Jackson. We had a nice dinner with other contest winners and saw a spectacular view of downtown Nashville from the boat and the had NashVegas performance which is impersonators from Vegas. Very Entertaining
Sat. morning we left for downtown and explored every inch of it. We went to Printers Ally, the Wildhorse Saloon and several gift shops before making our way to the One and Only Ryman Auditorium, this was a high-light of the trip. They let us on stage to take pics. the same stage that every worth while singer/actor has performed before the new Opry was built. We left from the back door and made our way to Tootsies thru the alley. We learned even Elvis would leave the Ryman and cut thru the Alley to get a drink at Tootsies, it honestly gives you goosebumps. Of course me and my big mouth had to meet the owner and have drinks with him, his family has owned this bar since the beginning of time. I met several of the acts that performed that day, my favorite was Tyler Dickerson he is a 14 year old who is on his way up to the top. He was just signed with John Rich and had just been on Gone Country with Chirs Kirkpatrick. I begged him to tell me if Chris won but he would'nt spill the beans. He did have good things to say about Chris.
I was having so much fun at Tootsies but we had to go get ready for the Opry, so we had lunch just down the alley at Jacks a famous BBQ. The Opry was jammed packed with singers, I saw Roy Clark, Loretta Lynn, Connie Smith, Jean Sheppard, The Whites(from Brother where art there), Patty Loveless, The Road Hammers and also Crystal Shawanda who were discoverd at Tootsies (they should be all over the radio soon). And las but not least Jessica Simpson. She was extremely nervous but still was good for her country debut.
We had a blast in Nashville, there is so much to see and do and I thank Carl Black GMC for choosing me.
